Cody 5 Was the Name of the Winning Crimson Tide Play vs Auburn

Cody-5 is the winning play Alabama’s coaching staff called on the winning touchdown. The Tide lined up in a goal-line formation with defensive tackle Terrence Cody playing his role as a fullback/blocker.

But instead of running the ball — as Alabama has done all season out of that formation — quarterback Greg McElroy faked a handoff, rolled right and fired a quick pass to Upchurch for the touchdown.

Cody-5. As in Terrence Cody and Upchurch’s jersey number 5.

“Hey, if Daniel Moore wants to make a painting of it, I’m his man,” Upchurch said.

Because this year’s Crimson Tide vs Tigers being played on Friday instead of Saturday, everything had to be moved up practice-wise, so the Crimson Tide started preparing for the Tigers on Sunday instead of taking a day off. TV Mada a bad decision.
Someone at CBS apparently forgot that Alabama-Auburn is the country’s best rivalry games.

Auburn is coming off their bye and has the advantage of playing at home.

Football, It’s a Guy Thing

I must love sports because I’m a guy. It’s the law. I can’t think of a better way to spend a beautiful sunny day indoors than watching grown men smack each other around, hitting, chasing, throwing some sort of ball, and knocking the living daylights out of each other. The best part is they get to make gigantic sums of money doing it. And, throw in a few steroid and marital scandals and you’ve got the makings for a drama that mere mortals can not comprehend, as we drool our lives away on some comfortable scuzzy couch. Another beer, please.
