Formula One Woes Continue for Honda

By admin, 13 March, 2010, No Comment

Honda Racing Formula One Team was looking to take their first point/s of the season going into Sunday’s United States Grand Prix. But after a poor showing at the race held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, it looks as if Honda would have to wait for the next race to break into the scoring column.

Drivers Rubens Barrichello and Jenson Button seemed to have switched places after the Canadian Grand Prix. At the race held at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, Barrichello only managed to take the twelfth spot while Button was forced to retire. At the United States Grand Prix, it was Button who finished twelfth and Barrichello was forced to retire.

Remember the old WW2 poster, “When You Ride Alone, You Ride with Hitler?”

It said that unless you do your best to conserve oil, you are working against the United States…and for Hitler.

With the US fighting TWO wars in the Middle East, and barrels of oil at record prices, is it tasteful for auto sports to be consuming oil for fun?

And why aren’t everyday consumers being asked to conserve like back in the old days?
stiff_greygoose_martin: You are right, but travelling to sporting events and using electricity to watch sporting events is a far cry from auto racing. Unlike baseball, football, basketball, etc., racing directly burns fuel for amusement.

The Indiana Pacers Continue to Race Towards Their First NBA Finals Victory

The Indiana Pacers have experienced success in both the ABA and NBA. However, they continue to strive towards their first NBA championship.

Did you know that the Indiana Pacers played their first NBA game on October 21, 1976? However, the history of the Indiana Pacers as a franchise actually began in 1967.

I have been to rural Indiana, and can attest to the fact that the film “Hoosiers” epitomizes the state’s love for the game of basketball. Indeed, tiny farm towns have become legends in Indiana, by defeating powerhouses from Indianapolis. The Pacers played in the ABA from 1967-1976. Their team’s name indicates their objective of setting the pace in the basketball industry. It also creates connotations of Indiana’s tradition of auto racing, which includes the annual Indianapolis 500.
