McLaren rookie driver Lewis Hamilton has broken record after record in the fastest motorsport in the planet. The British driver became the youngest individual to secure a Formula One contract while he was just thirteen years old. He also became the first driver of African or Caribbean descent to compete in Formula One. Hamilton is also the youngest driver to lead the driver’s championship after he placed second at the Spanish Grand Prix. He is also the only rookie driver to have finished in the top three after all his five races so far this season.

The North American leg of the current Formula One season left a bitter taste in the mouth of BMW Sauber. At the Canadian Grand Prix, Robert Kubica met an accident while at the United States Grand Prix, Nick Heidfeld was forced to retire after his car malfunctioned. Although the team has scored their highest finish so far at the Canadian Grand Prix, they are looking to improve the team’s performance at the upcoming French Grand Prix.

The 2007 Formula 1 Grand Prix season started off with a bang this year. The second racing event in the circuit was enjoyed in Kuala Lumpur as Malaysia hosted the 2007 Grand Prix at its Sepang International Circuit course during the first weekend in April.


Included in the Grand Prix Formula One Racing Championship in 1999, the Malaysia circuit, hosted at the Sepang racecourse near Kuala Lumpur, is fast becoming one of the most popular events in that part of Asia. Since their first year in the F1 racing circuit, the Malaysian course has offered drastic changes in weather to challenge F1 drivers, as well as a 56-lap, 5.54 km racecourse filled with hair-raising turns and straight-aways that beg for speed.

With the Monaco Grand Prix controversy barely over, Formula One teams are already making their preparations for the forthcoming Grand Prix du Canada. After the Monaco Grand Prix, FIA announced that they will be investigating a possible violation committed by team McLaren Mercedes with regards to team orders. Recently, Formula One’s governing body said in a statement that “(McLaren) did nothing which could be described as interfering with the race result.”
